We are a Bible believing, Christ-centered church. We try to teach and practice what we find in the Bible, nothing more, nothing less. Below are the convictions that we hold of highest importance.
We Believe…
We believe the Bible is the inspired and complete word of God. It is the divine standard for every age and every life.
(I Timothy 3:16, Revelation 22:18-19, Psalm 119:105)
We believe there is one God in three persons; Father, Son, and Spirit.
(John 10:30, John 17:21-23, 1 John 5:7-8)
We believe God created all that exists, and He loves us more than we can ever imagine.
(Genesis 1:1, I John 4:7-8)
We believe God’s desire is to have an intimate relationship with the humans He created. Unfortunately, humans sinned, causing a separation between humans and God.
(Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)
We believe the only path back to God is through Jesus Christ.
(John 14:6)
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God, was born of a virgin, lived a fully sinless life, died on a cross for our sins, rose from the grave to conquer death, ascended into heaven, and now sits at God’s right hand, advocating for His followers. Because of what Jesus has done, sin no longer separates God from His people.
(John 1:1, Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:26-38, Hebrews 4:15, I Corinthians 15:1-4, Acts 1:9-11, Romans 3:24, I Peter 3:21-22)
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, and shares all the qualities of divinity. We believe that God’s Spirit is active in the world, dwells within Christians, and exists to make us more like Jesus.
(Psalm 139:7-10, John 14:26, John 16:8-11, I Corinthians 6:19, Galatians 5:22-23)
We believe that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith, and not by our own works.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
We believe baptism by immersion is a necessary response of faith to God’s gift of grace. It is not a work that we do to earn God’s favor, but an outward demonstration of our belief in Christ, our submission to God, and our faith in His salvation. Because we believe that baptism is an individual choice based on faith, we do not practice infant baptism.
(Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-4, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12, I Peter 3:20-21)
We believe the Church is the community of Jesus’ followers who love each other wholeheartedly, care for each other fervently, and help each other sacrificially. We believe the Church is God’s chosen instrument to carry the Gospel to our world through evangelism.
(Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47, I Corinthians 12:12-26)
We believe, as a non-denominational body, in the autonomy of congregations to have their own spiritual leadership. We take guidance and direction solely from God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. At Mandarin, we are led spiritually by a plurality of shepherds.
(Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5)
We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that God hears our prayers offered through Jesus Christ, and He responds according to His sovereign will. With Jesus as our high priest, we need no other intermediary.
(2 Chronicles 7:14, Matthew 6:9-13, John 16:23-26, Hebrews 4:14, James 5:13-16)
We believe in the unity and harmony of congregational singing (a capella) as found in the churches in the New Testament.
(Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
We believe in the importance of remembering the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus through communion each first day of the week.
(Acts 20:7, I Corinthians 11:23-29)
We believe Jesus is coming again. His followers will be with Him and with God forever in a place called Heaven. Those who have chosen not to trust in Jesus will spend eternity separated from God in a place called Hell. We have no idea when this will happen.
(I Corinthians 15:51-58, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 22:7,12,20)
We believe our best days as a church lie ahead.
